hi!i have an asus p8z77-v motherboard and i'm running windows 8.1, 64-bit, and i have a samsung 840 pro 128gb ssd. i've tried installing some other ssd drives, but each time i can never get past the windows boot process. it will load the screen that says "windows is starting.." and then it just stops at that point and the computer won't respond to anything. i've tried installing the latest samsung ssd drivers, the regular drivers, and the intel rst drivers, and all of them have the same issue. i've tried running the ssd as both ahci and ide mode, but no matter which mode i run it in it will still stop at that point. i've even tried using a different sata cable and a different sata port. nothing works. is there a fix for this?

just downloaded the drivers for my newly purchased asus t100. the speedtest.net page is reporting a maximum speed of 37mb/s and a minimum speed of 17mb/s. i would like to know if the driver is causing any problems with my connection. i will update when i find out.

ive been trying to install the intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller driver (version 3.0.16 as supplied by the asus web site) but it balks when it gets to the pci bus. at this point the entire system freezes for about 30 seconds and then a generic message is returned saying the install failed and some devices were not installed. if i try to install the pci bus driver manually via the device manager (updating from the stock microsoft driver and pointing it to the directory where the intel usb3 drivers reside) it fails saying the parameter is incorrect. something has occurred in this process though, because the device manager is now listing the driver as intel, version 3.16. rebooting at this stage causes a bsod while loading windows, requiring a repair boot and system restore to recover.
